English Programme HUSO PSU, Elevates to International Quality Standards through AUN-QA Programme Assessment

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, undergoes the 511th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at the international level, 7–9 April 2026, at the Pattani Campus Office, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus.

The Bachelor of Arts Program in English, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, underwent a programme-level educational quality assessment under the criteria of the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework — the 511th assessment — during 7–9 April 2026 at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus.

At the opening ceremony held on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, at the Wijarn Suphakit Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Pattani Campus Office, Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Kaewpradit, President of Prince of Songkla University, delivered a welcome address to the assessment panel via videoconference, reaffirming the University’s commitment to advancing educational quality toward international standards. Asst. Prof. Dr. Atchai Ua-anantsant, Vice President for Pattani Campus, together with the Pattani Campus executive team, also participated in the ceremony to jointly steer and oversee the programme quality development process in alignment with international benchmarks.

The Bachelor of Arts Program in English was assessed by an international panel of assessors led by Dr. Wan Ahmad Kamil PhD, FASc, FMIC from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, serving as Lead Assessor, and Prof. Dr. Nina M. Cadiz from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, the Philippines, serving as Assessor. The assessment process spanned three days, encompassing meetings with administrators and the SAR team, sessions with faculty members, students, alumni, and employers, as well as on-site visits at both the university and faculty levels.

The internal working team supporting the assessment of the Bachelor of Arts Program in English was led by the SAR team under the chairmanship of Ajarn Kanya Pornwasanyying, Program Chair of the Bachelor of Arts in English, along with faculty members of the program. The team was further supported by Asst. Prof. Dr. Cherdchai Udomphan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty’s executive team, all of whom participated fully in the assessment process.

The Bachelor of Arts Program in English, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, is designed in accordance with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework, aiming to produce graduates with strong English language proficiency, critical thinking skills, and intercultural communication competencies — ready to meet the demands of careers in business, tourism, and international professions. The curriculum undergoes continuous development through ongoing input from students, alumni, employers, and external experts.

The program is further aligned with SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education) in building a curriculum of international quality and standards, and SDG Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with university networks across the ASEAN region.

The AUN-QA International Assessment was conducted over three full days, covering meetings with the Dean, faculty members, support staff, students, alumni, and employers, along with visits to the faculty and university facilities, culminating in the presentation of preliminary assessment findings on the final day. This reflects the unwavering commitment of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prince of Songkla University, to the continuous improvement of educational quality in accordance with international standards — in full alignment with Prince of Songkla University’s vision as a university of sustainability, dedicated to genuinely enhancing the quality of life and grassroots economy of southern Thailand.
