Philosophy of the Program
The Bachelor of Arts Programme in English aims to produce graduates who are capable of continuous self-development in terms of knowledge, communication skills, and the application of English language knowledge in both professional contexts and everyday life, in alignment with the changing dynamics of society, while upholding moral and ethical values.
Programme Objectives
Demonstrate moral and ethical values and social responsibility
Graduates will possess moral integrity, ethical conduct, and personal responsibility, and demonstrate a sense of public-mindedness by applying their English language knowledge for the benefit of themselves and society.
Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the four English language skills
Graduates will demonstrate competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing English accurately in accordance with grammatical principles, and be able to use English effectively for communicative purposes to achieve intended objectives.
Apply critical thinking and integrate knowledge in linguistics and literature
Graduates will be able to think critically, analyse, synthesise, and integrate knowledge in English linguistics, British and American literature, as well as literary works written or translated into English. They will also demonstrate competence in translating various types of texts from English into Thai and from Thai into English, including texts containing specialised terminology.
Analyse language structures and information through information technology
Graduates will be able to analyse English language structures and content, as well as identify and differentiate types of English-language information presented through various forms of information and communication technologies.
Work collaboratively and adapt to diverse social and professional contexts
Graduates will be able to apply English language skills and knowledge effectively in both individual and collaborative work, demonstrate leadership qualities, understand their roles and responsibilities, respect others’ perspectives, and adapt to diversity in the workplace and society.
Utilise information technology for continuous knowledge development
Graduates will be able to use information technology to enhance their English language competence and professional skills, and to access up-to-date information and knowledge for lifelong and continuous learning.
